The Experience of a true Tuscan Farm

Wine, vin santo and olive oil as in the past, on the hills of Tofori: sun, terroir and tradition give rise to products rooted in the past.

Farmhouse Maionchi is part of the Wine and Olive Oil Road of Lucca, Montecarlo and Versilia. Our products originate on the Tofori hills from vineyards and olive groves characteristic of the area. Behind every grape, behind every olive, there is the long history of our farm, artisanal methods of production, and a passion for the products of our land but above all, the pleasure of making them known and introducing them in the same environment on the farm, where time has stood still: just as it once did.

Massimo Motroni, our oenologist

Born in Lucca, graduated in Agricultural Sciences at the University of Pisa, later specialising in Viticulture and Oenology at the University of Piacenza. He is an agronomist and oenologist and works as a consultant for several Tuscan companies. He is president of the tasting commission for DOC wines in the province of Lucca.

Extra Virgin Olive Oil

We produce only one type of olive oil by harvesting olives from our olive groves scattered over several fields and among the farm's vineyards. This particular, scattered location results in a meticulous harvest, which pays off in quality. We harvest each olive by hand, and do the initial cold pressing.

The varieties we grow are Frantoiano, Leccino and Muraiolo. The result of the quality of these combined varieties and the slow processing procedure is a very strong oil, rich in vegetable aroma, typical of Tuscany, with a hint of grass and black pepper that is at its best with the simplest and tastiest accompaniment: bread.
